Thought I Was Free

Haven't used this thing in awhile, per my norm...I hate to bring it back with something like this, but it has to go somewhere.

Lonely

"Let me be clear. I understand very little, least of all the people closest to me."

Human Chemistry

Human relationships, as it turns out, bear a striking resemblance to chemical reactions:

*Some things mix well, and others simply do not.
*Sometimes, you are surprised by how well things mix.
*Once mixed, some of these things produce simple - even bland - results. This is not a bad thing.
*Not everything continues indefinitely - sometimes when the reaction ends, it's just over.
*No matter how much you might want some things to mix, they may just fail.
*Sometimes you can mix things that wouldn't work otherwise, with the right catalyst.
*Once in awhile, the reaction looks okay, but one thing is completely consuming the other.
*And last? In a few cases, the reaction between things is so violent and powerful that, if not carefully watched, it will end catastrophically.

Just a thought for the night. More to come, maybe.

American Ingenuity (Part I)

Tonight's post will be short, and somewhat themed.

The theme?
What could we do, as a country (for my fellow Americans) to be smarter?
This includes any kind of innovation, educational overhaul, policies, etc.

The Right Words

The worst part of work isn't the hours, or the management, or the co-workers, or even the wages.
The worst part of work is that it completely exhausts my ability to fake it - you know, being less-than-miserable. I get home and it isn't the exhaustion that does me in, but the aching desire not to have to put up with anything, from anyone at all. I seem to remember having more of this ability, earlier on. I suppose faking a smile comes a little harder when you can't really combat the darkness inside anymore.
