Truths

"There's no comfort in the truth; pain is all you'll find."
Yeah, that's about right.

Comfort can come from a lot of things, but the largest source has this nasty habit of being delusions and falsehoods. Of course, some of them are very comforting lies to believe.
So why can't I?

Truth doesn't shelter you, it leaves you shivering alone in the darkness. You'll bleed to know it, bleed because you know it, and then bleed again because others don't want to know it.

What's the value, then? Why not let it go?

There's a whole philosophical debate on the matter. What is truth, why does it matter, things like that.
I don't really care for such a debate.

Truth is.

I suppose that's the sum total of the argument, isn't it?

There is a small comfort - the kind of small that encompasses the entire world, found in the truth.
Underneath all the pain it can cause, below the bleeding and the loneliness?

Unlike all of the delusions and lies and comforts of the world, no one and nothing can take truth away from you. Not ever.

It can be simple, small, and unbelievably painful to hold...but once you have it, you'll always have it.

I guess that means more to me than maybe it should. Who knows.

That's your grain of philosophy for today, folks.
