Rules of Programming

A brief note about why I've always loved Open Source...

The software development tree for Windows. Simplified, but essentially all there.

Windows 3.11 - > Windows 95 - > Windows 98 - > Windows ME -> Windows 2000 - > Windows XP - > Windows Vista -> Windows 7

For Mac.
Mac OS 1 - > Mac OS 2 - > Etc. - > Mac OSX - > Leopard - > Snow Leopard.
Presumably other cats.

For Linux.

Get the picture? This is true of almost any successful opensource project. It doesn't matter how big or how special your company might think it is - billions of programmers and testers will *always* be better than a few hundred.

Anyway, enough of that soapbox. Just thought I'd share.
